Nepal is set to graduate from the Least Developed Countries (LDC) category in 2026, marking a significant milestone in its development journey. Over the past three decades, the country has achieved remarkable poverty reduction, and its economy is projected to grow by 4.9% in the first half of 2025. This growth has been driven primarily by agriculture and industry and tourism (Ministry of Finance).
To advance its economic aspirations, the Government of Nepal has enlisted the support of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) to develop a National Productivity Master Plan, a ten-year strategic framework, to achieve the Government’s Productivity Vision 2044. DevTech is proud to partner with the APO and the Government of Nepal in this endeavor. Our team has conducted in-depth analyses to identify the binding constraints to productivity, pinpoint high-potential sectors for growth, and design methodologies to ensure effective implementation of the masterplan.

Recently, DevTech’s Senior PFM Consultants, Renata Simatupang and Ramesh Adhikari, facilitated a comprehensive stakeholder consultation in Nepal. The sessions brought together representatives from government agencies, the private sector, academia, and think tanks/NGOs to validate the findings from our quantitative analyses. Insights from key informant interviews (KIIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) will directly inform and strengthen the formulation of the Productivity Master Plan.
The interim draft of Nepal’s National Productivity Master Plan is currently in progress and expected to release by the end of the year upon further review and consultation with the Government of Nepal and the APO.
