DevTech promotes safe and effective learning environments by working with government leaders and international partners to expand education and training opportunities for children, youth, and adults. We have designed, supported, and evaluated major education and workforce development initiatives across the globe, with notable work in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
Our project portfolio includes efforts to improve job outcomes for youth, increase access to quality primary and secondary education, support early childhood learning, strengthen individual and institutional capacity, and reduce school-based violence to help ensure all students can thrive in safe environments. From implementing the Safe Schools Program to promote safer learning environments, to improving early grade reading outcomes through Early Grade Reading Assessments (EGRAs) in Zambia, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, DevTech has demonstrated broad expertise in delivering educational services for children and youth. In 2021, we conducted the first national-scale EGRA assessment for Grade 2 learners in Zambia. During the COVID-19 pandemic, DevTech innovated by carrying out virtual EGRAs in Venezuela, navigating a complex socio-political landscape to collect, analyze, and report critical learning data.
DevTech is also leading efforts to advance accessible education using a technology-forward approach. For example, the U.S. Government-supported Morocco Teacher Training Activity, launched in 2022, helped ensure that deaf students had improved access to education through tailored training and tools. Additionally, our experience extends to evaluating education systems and reform efforts aimed at achieving measurable student learning gains and strengthening institutional capacity.
DevTech’s extensive background in monitoring and evaluation is closely aligned with our work in education and workforce development. Recent efforts include the evaluation of the U.S. Government’s Advance Performance Evaluation in Jamaica and the evaluation of the CATALYZE EduFinance Project across five African countries. In addition to working with the U.S. Government, including the Departments of Labor and State, DevTech supports national governments in reviewing school curricula and helping education systems reach targeted performance goals.
